Cronologia da Série Fundação de Isaac Asimov

A "Trilogia da Fundação" de Isaac Asimov, ganhadora de um Prêmio Hugo especial de Melhor Série de Ficção Científica de Todos os Tempos, provavelmente é a "trilogia" de ficção científica mais duradoura e conceituada já escrita. Uma trilogia apenas por asserção e histórico de publicação, ela é composta de cinco contos e quatro novelas publicadas em série entre 1942 e 1950, que foram republicadas como uma trilogia no início da década de 1950. Desde sua publicação inicial, Asimov estendeu a trilogia - com a adição de quatro romances publicados entre 1982 e 1993 - para uma série de sete volumes; ao fazer isso, ele também integrou essa série expandida da Fundação em um grande projeto de quinze livros inter-relacionados e sete contos adicionais que contêm dezesseis histórias de robôs, os quatro romances de robôs de Asimov e os três romances do Império também de Asimov.
